On September 11 2001 a horrific event shocked America and the rest of the world with it. These attacks would forever change the way acts of violence and terrorism are handled. But what do people really think happened on that day?
There are countless conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 from CIA cover ups to a bomb underneath the building but some of the most popular are those involving George Bush, the U.S. President at the time of the attacks.

Many people believe that Bush knew that the U.S had been threatened but ignore the threat to focus on a problem with Russia at the time. Another theory that kept cropping up in my research is that Bush had the opportunity to shoot down the planes before they hit the twin towers, therefore preventing the countless deaths and trauma, but decided against this course of action.

Moving on from the conspiracies surrounding the 9/11 attacks, I want to focus on perhaps the most defining part of September 11 - the global reaction to the religion of Islam. From that moment and even now 15 years later, a lot of people have been painting muslims with the same brush - that of a terrorist.
- Pause -
Many people have been placing the blame of terrorist attacks on every muslim that they meet despite the fact that Islam does not practise hate like these terrorist organisations but instead peace.

The global prejudice against muslims has even gone as far as Republican Presidential Candiate Donald Trump falsifying an account that he witnessed a group of muslims celebrating after 9/11.
